TxDOT: Mile 5 Road in McAllen set to re-open

MCALLEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) — Auburn Avenue in McAllen, also known as Mile 5 Road, is scheduled to reopen Friday.

The Texas Department of Transportation announced Auburn Avenue first closed earlier this year to widen the roadway to four lanes with a continuous turn lane and 10-foot shoulders.

The road will open between Taylor and Ware Road at 3 p.m.
