TxDOT conducting maintenance work on Queen Isabella Causeway

PORT ISABEL, Texas (ValleyCentral) — Drivers traveling to and from South Padre Island will experience lane reductions and possible traffic delays throughout the week.

The Texas Department of Transportation is conducting preventative maintenance at the Queen Isabella Causeway starting Monday, June 3 through Thursday, June 6 to extend the service life of the bridge.

Workers will be at the causeway between the hours of 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

According to TxDOT, the maintenance work will be conducted during non-peak hours and lane closures will be done in small sections at a time.

Motorists are advised to drive with caution.
