TxDOT announces traffic alert in SPI due to paving work

SOUTH PADRE ISLAND, Texas (ValleyCentral) — A traffic alert has been scheduled for nighttime milling and paving work in South Padre Island.

The milling and paving work is scheduled from Dec. 3, 2024, to Feb. 14, 2025 between the Queen Isabella Memorial Causeway and Orca Circle.

According to a news release from the Texas Department of Transportation, work crews will be at the site from 6 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. from Sunday through Thursday.

TxDOT advises drivers to anticipate lane reductions, slow down and stay alert in the work zone.
