Two Valley districts approve retention stipend

BROWNSVILLE, Texas (ValleyCentral) — Two out of three of the Rio Grande Valley's largest school districts voted Tuesday night to grant a retention stipend for teachers.

At 10:52 p.m., the McAllen School Board came back from an executive session and approved a one-time $600 retention stipend to all full-time employees.

Additionally, the Brownsville Independent School Board approved a $750 stipend.
