LA GRULLA, Texas (ValleyCentral) — Two students have been detained following a possible terroristic threat made on Grulla Middle School during Spring Break, according to the district.

The Starr County Sheriff’s Office is conducting an investigation into the possible terroristic threat that occurred on Sunday. As of now, two students have been detained.

A release from the district stated that the investigation is ongoing, and more information is expected to be provided soon.

Progreso mayor appears in court after arrest

"As a standard part of our daily procedures and in accordance with our comprehensive campus safety plan, we take any such incidents seriously," the release stated. "The safety and well-being of our campus community are our top priorities. As a precautionary measure, we are implementing all necessary steps to ensure the continued security of our schools."

All questions and concerns are being directed to the Grulla Middle School Office.
