Over 2,000 power outages reported across Hidalgo, Cameron counties

HARLINGEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) — AEP Texas and Magic Valley Electric Cooperative are reporting power outages in Hidalgo and Cameron counties.

According to the AEP Texas outage map, approximately 2,000 customers are without power across both counties.

Magic Valley is reporting only 150 are without power in Cameron County.

ValleyCentral has reached out to both companies to determine if the power outages are heat related but have yet to hear back.
