TSTC Harlingen hosts Discovery Day for high school seniors

HARLINGEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) — Texas State Technical College held a Discovery Day open house on Thursday for high school students at the college's Harlingen campus.

Students had the opportunity to learn about various programs at the college. TSTC admissions, financial aid, and student support services representatives were there to assist prospective students in learning about what's available for them.

"We see that a lot of our seniors in this area sometimes just don't know what they want to do when they're getting closer to the end of their time in high school," said Mario Saenz, Associate Manager of Enrollment in Admissions for TSTC. "We want to give them another opportunity just kind of let them see some other programs they may not have been told about or were not aware of. We want to keep them close and keep them with some careers that at the end of it will be some high paying salary careers in a relatively short time frame."

TSTC will host another campus visit event on Tuesday, Dec.10 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Register early as there are limited spots.
