BROWNSVILLE, Texas (ValleyCentral) — Texas Southmost College reported an apparent breach in its network Monday morning.
According to an announcement from the college, the TSC Information Technology department was alerted about the breach of the network and immediately initiated the TSC CyberSecurity Incident Response Plan and shut down the TSC network and critical systems.
Local and federal law enforcement agencies have been contacted, as well as the Texas Department of Information Resources, which is working closely with TSC officials to determine the source of the breach and any information that may have been compromised.
As of 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, the college stated it remains in contact with DIR and local officials to restore its network.
