Traffic backed up near Ed Carey due to crash with cement truck

HARLINGEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) — Drivers in the area of Ed Carey Dr. near the Cinemark in Harlingen can expect traffic delays due to a crash.

Harlingen police say a cement truck and SUV collided on the expressway at about noon Monday.

Larry Moore, public information officer for the Harlingen Police Department, said the driver of the SUV was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Our VallleyCentral crews are reporting traffic being backed up for about a mile on the expressway.

The Texas Department of Transportation has also closed the on ramps to the expressway headed northbound. Drivers are asked to find alternate routes in the meantime.
