The Lord of the Rings trilogy returns to theaters, extended and remastered

HARLINGEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) — Warner Bros. and Fathom Events are bringing the epic fantasy trilogy of The Lord of the Rings to a theater near you this summer.

The three-day event will feature a remastered extended edition for Peter Jackson's The Fellowship of the Ring (2001), The Two Towers (2002) and The Return of the King (2003).

This is the first time Jackson's remastered versions will be in theaters.

The Fellowship of the Ring will screen Saturday, June 8, followed by The Two Towers screening on Sunday, June 9, concluding with The Return of the King on Monday, June 10.

All the Oscar-award winning films will screen at participating Cinemark Theaters and AMC Theaters.
