RIO GRANDE CITY, Texas — Texas Regional Bank opened its newest banking center in Rio Grande City on August 5.

The center is located at 4389 E US Highway 83, Rio Grande City, Texas.

The lobby is open 9 AM to 4 PM, Monday through Thursday, 9 AM to 6 PM on Friday, and 9 AM to 12 PM on Saturday. The drive-in is available Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 6 PM, and Saturday from 8 AM to 12 PM.

An official grande opening ceremony is planned for September.

Dalinda Guillen, former executive director of Rio Grande City Economic Development Corporation, joined TRB in February of 2024. Guillen serves as market manager for Starr and Hidalgo Counties, which now includes the new banking center in Rio Grande City.

Guillen said the TRB family is proud to complete construction of its newest full-service banking center, commemorating the bank’s 30th location in Texas and 14th in the Rio Grande Valley region.

“Rio Grande City is a growing and vibrant community, and I’m excited my career can serve a place I love, and not just because I have roots here, but because I truly believe in the continued development of this region.”

Guillen said community is a core value of TRB. She said the bank exhibits pride in contributing considerable time and resources to make its surrounding communities great places to live and work.

From January through July of 2024, Guillen pointed out, bank employees have completed over 3,800 hours of volunteer work in the communities they serve.

“As TRB grows into the western Rio Grande Valley, the bank carries its commitment to active service into Rio Grande City and fundamentally advances the bank’s mission, to be ‘The people you know’ in the communities we serve,” a press release from TRB stated.

Michael Scaief, chairman and CEO of TRB, said the Rio Grande City banking center offers a comprehensive range of banking products and services tailored to meet the needs of both personal and business customers, and provides access to banking solutions, including savings, checking accounts, mortgages, commercial and personal loans, trust and wealth management, and insurance services.

Scaief said expanding to Rio Grande City by building a banking center affirms and advances TRB’s mission. “I look forward to serving the community that has had a substantial impact on Texas Regional Bank’s identity,” he said.

Scaief also expressed his admiration for the historical architecture of Rio Grande City and stated that “every branch built in the Rio Grande Valley was inspired by Rio Grande City brickwork.”
