HARLINGEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) - A cold front is set to slice south through the Rio Grande Valley Thanksgiving mid morning through mid afternoon.

The front will open the gate for a cool north wind to blow across the Valley allowing temperatures to fall through the mid 60's by afternoon.

Don't expect much in the way of rain from the front, a brief morning shower is possible but not likely.

Be sure to take a sweater or light jacket to your Thanksgiving dinner event as it will be a bit cooler by evening when you are heading home.

The north wind will put a little chill in the air blowing through at 10 to 15 mph but some gusts will push through around 25 mph.

For the latest weather conditions, make sure to watch the Valley Storm Team on CBS 4 and NBC 23.
