PRIMERA, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The suspect in a fatal apartment shooting in Primera was arraigned Wednesday afternoon.
Tevin K. Henderson is charged with killing 28-year-old Jesus Rodriguez at Sunquest Apartments during a verbal argument.
He was formally charged with murder with a bond set at $350,000.
Henderson, originally from Illinois, is ordered to surrender his passport under the condition of his bond.
"We are very close to the border and he has ties to Illinois," Gabriela Martinez, Magistrate Judge with Cameron County stated during the arraignment.
Henderson is not allowed to leave Cameron County or the United States without court approval.
He will be required to wear a GPS monitor and have a court mandated home curfew that requires him to be home between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m.
In addition, Henderson will not be allowed to possess a firearm or ammunition.
Police continue to investigate the motive of the shooting.
