SOUTH TEXAS HEALTH SYSTEM WELCOMES FIRST BABY OF 2025 AT SOUTH TEXAS HEALTH SYSTEM MCALLEN

The first baby of the new year arrived at 12:05 a.m. at STHS McAllen and was one of three newborns welcomed at STHS on New Year’s Day

South Texas Health System is overjoyed to have welcomed the first baby of 2025 not long after the clock struck midnight on the new year.

Weighing in at 6 pounds and 6 ounces, Baby Aubrielle Adelynn Muniz arrived at The Maternity Center at South Texas Health System McAllen at 12:05 a.m., marking the first of three newborns who arrived at one of our facilities on the first day of 2025.

“I just knew she would come on New Year’s Day,” says new mom Daniela Abigail Lopez. “I was due January 7th, but I kept thinking ‘no, this little girl is coming sooner than that’ and, sure enough, here she is.”

The arrival of Baby Aubrielle is one that her dad, Isaac Muniz says was a long process.

“My wife was in labor for over 24 hours,” shares Isaac. “But our little girl is here and she is perfect and we are so excited to finally get to hold her.”

Not only is little Aubrille the first baby of STHS this year, but she is the first child for the Muniz family, ensuring 2025 will be a special year for them.

Approximately 3.6 million babies are born in the United States each year, and among the millions of babies expected to be born this year, little Aubrielle is the first to arrive at STHS. She was also one of three babies born at one of our hospitals on New Year’s Day.

The staff of The Maternity Center at STHS Edinburg and STHS McAllen and everyone at STHS is grateful to be part of a family journey of welcoming a new bundle of joy into the world and is dedicated to making the process as smooth as possible.

As part of the dedication we provide in women’s services, South Texas Health System was recently a 2023 Five-Star Recipient for C-Section Delivery, Hysterectomy and Gynecology Procedures, reflecting the system’s commitment to consistently deliver high-quality women’s healthcare and placing the organization in the upper echelon of hospitals for OB/GYN care nationwide.
