Starr County juvenile inmate dies while in custody, attorney says

STARR COUNTY, Texas (ValleyCentral) — Local authorities are investigating the death of a juvenile who died in custody over the weekend.

Starr County Attorney Rene P. Montalvo was notified about the death of a male juvenile inmate housed at the Starr County Jail.

The boy died Sunday morning.

ValleyCentral has also reached out to the Office of the Inspector General, but has yet to hear back.
