South Texas Health System welcomes newborns on New Year's Day

MCALLEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The first newborns of 2025 are being celebrated at South Texas Health System.

STHS welcomed baby Aubrielle Adelynn Muniz not long after the clock stuck midnight.

Baby Aubrielle was welcomed into the world at 12:05 a.m., making her the first of three New Year's Day newborns.

She is also the first child for the Muniz family.

"I just knew she would come on New Year’s Day,” said new mom Daniela Abigail Lopez. "I was due January 7th, but I kept thinking ‘No, this little girl is coming sooner than that.’ Sure enough, here she is."

“My wife was in labor for over 24 hours,” said new dad Isaac Muniz. “But our little girl is here and she is perfect. We are so excited to finally get to hold her."
