Severe thunderstorm watch issued for Hidalgo, Starr Counties

RIO GRANDE VALLEY, Texas (ValleyCentral) — A severe thunderstorm watch has been issued for Hidalgo and Starr Counties due to strong storms moving in from the southwest.

Strong winds, heavy rain and hail are associated with this storm.

Meteorologist Freddy Vela says the issuance will be in effect until 12 a.m.

Cameron County can also expect some rain.
