MCALLEN, Texas – Raul E. Sesin, general manager of Hidalgo County Drainage District No. 1, has given an update on the work of his department.
Hidalgo County Judge Richard Cortez asked Sesin to speak at a McAllen Citizens League event that was held at the Rio Bank HQ in McAllen.
Sesin spoke about the four projects his team is working on. He said bond referendums passed by voters in 2018 and 2023 have allowed the drainage district to leverage more funding from the federal government.
He said he has about $160 million for the projects. And he said county residents can follow the development of the projects via an interactive website.
