Santa Ana National Wildlife Refuge temporarily closed due to bees

ALAMO, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The Santa Ana National Wildlife Refuge will be closed due to a risk of multiple beehives in the area.

According to the refuge, the bees are causing high activity and threatening visitors on the trails.

"Based on our experience, the bees need some time to re-adjust to their new location," Santa Ana announced.

The trails will be closed Friday, April 26, until the refuge determines it is safe to use the trails again.
