SAN BENITO, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The Cameron County Sheriff's Office is investigating a burglary in San Benito that occurred on April 11.
According to the sheriff's office, deputies responded to a residence on the 29000 block of Saskatchewan Lane.
Deputies made contact with a 25-year-old woman who told them unknown people entered her home without permission and stole multiple items from the residence.
Sheriff's investigators later viewed surveillance footage from a neighboring residence. It showed the vehicle suspected of being used during the burglary.
On April 25, the occupants of the vehicle were identified as Luis Julian Rangel, 38, and a 15-year-old.
Investigators recovered the stolen property and obtained arrest warrants for Rangel and the teen.
Rangel was taken to the Cameron County Sheriff’s Office where he gave a full confession. Following the confession he was transported to the Carrizales Rucker Detention Center pending arraignment.
He is charged with burglary of a habitation, a 2nd Degree Felony.
The juvenile suspect was also arrested and processed accordingly.
