RGV Hispanic Chamber of Commerce endorses RioPlex

MCALLEN, Texas – The Rio Grande Valley Hispanic Chamber of Commerce says it “proudly supports” the new RioPlex regional marketing initiative created by the Prosperity Task Force and the CEO Group.

Cynthia M. Sakulenzki, president and CEO of RGVHCC, said the initiative aims to unify the cities of the Rio Grande Valley with those in northern Tamaulipas to “create a shared identity, promoting regional cohesion and fostering a sense of community.”

Sakulenzki said combining the assets of northern Tamaulipas and the Valley has not been attempted before.

“As an organization dedicated to the economic and cultural advancement of the Hispanic community in our region, the name RioPlex better reflects the interconnectedness and collective strength of our cities. This camaraderie will enhance our efforts to attract businesses, tourists, and residents, ultimately driving economic growth and development to our area,” Sakulenzki said.

“We, like the Rio Grande Valley Partnership, have always promoted the Rio Grande Valley as a region and are thrilled that now we have the RioPlex members representing the Rio Grande Valley, as well as our sister cities to the south in Tamaulipas.”

Sakulenzki continued: “As they say… stronger in numbers! And a population of three million people strong is nothing to sneeze at.” 

In alignment with this vision, Sakulenzki said RGVHCC not only supports the RioPlex branding exercise but also offers its resources and assistance to help make the project a success.   

“The partnership with RioPlex will enhance our mission to serve as a leading advocate for the Hispanic community and business interests across the newly named RioPlex region,” Sakulenzki added.
