EDINBURG, Texas (ValleyCentral) — Over 200 Rio Grande Valley students attended the Region One hands-on STEM learning experience.

The event sought to immerse students in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics through interactive activities, sparking curiosity and critical thinking skills.

The students learned through video games, robotics, and more.

"We have a lot of different setup sessions that deal with physics, science, technology, engineering, and math. We want to get the kids excited about STEM education and that's exactly what we're about at Region One," said Evangelina Blanco, Region One STEM specialist.

According to Region One, introducing STEM early on builds a strong foundation for future learning and careers, and prepares students for a rapidly evolving workforce where STEM skills are in high demand.
