RAYMONDVILLE, Texas (ValleyCentral) — A home was declared a total loss after a fire broke out Saturday night.
The Raymondville Fire Department says it responded to a structure fire on the 15000 block of Gonzalez Road.
At the scene, Raymondville Fire Chief Oscar Gutierrez told ValleyCentral, the home was mostly engulfed in flames. Fire crews were able to stop the fire but the home was deemed a total loss.
Fortunately, no one was injured in the blaze.
American Red Cross volunteers are helping the family with resources and temporary housing.
Gutierrez said Raymondville Independent School District is also stepping in to help the family with supplies they may need.
Chief Gutierrez added the Raymondville Fire Department is planning a fundraiser sometime at the end of the month to help the family.
Residents in the area are also collecting clothing for the family, which includes the parents and two children and planning a BBQ fundraiser.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
