Progreso school board makes meetings more accessible

PROGRESO, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The Progreso Independent School District is making moves to have more of its school board meetings available to the community.

The school board is live streaming their meetings online. They have installed microphones and additional cameras in their meeting room.

School board president Juan Ramos said they have listened to the community and are making changes to get more families up to speed and involved.

"The feedback has been super positive. It's like, this should have been done a long time ago. It's basically all positive impact towards the social media," Ramos said.

The board added extra chairs to their meetings to accommodate and encourage the district's growing parental involvement.
