PRIMERA, Texas (ValleyCentral) — A man was shot during what authorities suspect is a "narcotic transaction gone bad", on Monday night.
At 7:45 p.m. authorities responded to Sun Quest Apartment located at the 23000 block of Stuart Place Road regarding a man being shot.
According to a news release from the Primera Police Department, a preliminary investigation revealed the shooting was caused by a possible "narcotic transaction gone bad."
Police say the victim was sitting inside his car with a man when a Grey Malibu vehicle parked behind the victim's car.
At this time, the suspect exited the grey vehicle and began firing at the victim's car, the release stated.
The victim received minor injuries on his right arm caused by what authorities say appeared to be glass fragments when the bullets impacted the car windows.
The victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment and was released later in the evening.
Primera PD is interviewing witnesses at this time to identify all the suspects involved in the incident.
The Harlingen Police Department is assisting in the investigation.
