Potential Tropical Cyclone One brings watches and warnings for the RGV

HARLINGEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) — Potential Tropical Cyclone One is expected to become Tropical Storm Alberto by the end of the day.

The entire Rio Grande Valley is under a flood watch from Tuesday night until Thursday.

We are still expecting 5-7 inches of rain for the Upper Valley, and 7-9 inches of rain for the Lower Valley.

Coastal areas are under a tropical storm warning until Thursday. Winds are expected to remain between 39 and 57mph.

Coastal areas are under a Coastal Flood warning. A High Surf Advisory and a Rip Current Statement are also in effect.
