Police: Driver runs over BISD middle schooler's foot

BROWNSVILLE, Texas (ValleyCentral) — A middle school student was taken to a hospital after her foot was run over by a vehicle Tuesday afternoon.

According to Brownsville police, the incident occurred around 3 p.m. in front of Stell Middle School at 1105 E. Los Ebanos Blvd.

A student from the middle school ran towards the vehicle on the street without using the crosswalk, Investigator Abril Luna told ValleyCentral. The vehicle then ran over the girl's foot with its rear tire.

The student was transported to a local hospital for evaluation after sustaining minor injuries.

The driver involved remained at the scene and is not expected to face charges.
