Police arrest man in connection to motorcycle hit-and-run

EDINBURG, Texas (ValleyCentral) —Edinburg police arrested a man accused of a hit-and-run involving a three-wheel motorcycle.

Luis Alberto Gongora, 37, was charged with accident involving personal injury, according to a release from the Edinburg Police Department.

On March 31, authorities responded to an accident involving a three-wheel motorcycle on the northbound lanes of S. IH 69-C and Trenton Road.

At the scene, responding officers saw two people on the motorcycle with major injuries.

A preliminary investigation revealed that the man and woman were hit from behind by an SUV that drove away heading northbound.

The victims were transported to the Doctors Hospital at Renaissance Hospital.

As the investigation proceeded authorities revealed that Gongora was arrested in connection to the incident.
