Pharr PD to host suicide prevention awareness event

HARLINGEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The Pharr Police Department is hosting the annual "Stick by Me" suicide prevention awareness event on Friday.

Officer Nicolas Perez Zepeda, Pharr Police Mental Health Unit said, "Our goal is the community outreach. That's what we specialize in our unit and we're very excited about that. At this event, we will have about 44 vendors or booths ready to give out information. Some of these booths have behavioral centers. We have counseling centers, therapy organizations, and mental advocates."

Mark your calendars for Friday, Sept. 6 at the Pharr Vanguard Nature and Birding Center. The event runs from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. It is free and open to everyone in the Rio Grande Valley.
