PHARR, Texas – Victor Perez, president of Pharr Economic Development Corporation, introduced a day of in-depth discussions about the economy, trade, and workforce development at Pharr Global Business Hub.
No less than seven panel discussions took place in one day as part of RGV StartUp Week.
In his opening remarks, Perez said Pharr is open for business. He spoke about the strong partnerships Pharr EDC has developed with organizations such as Workforce Solutions, UT-Rio Grande Valley, and South Texas College.
He also spoke about the importance of the Pharr International Bridge and his group’s trade missions to Mexico.
And he said giving tax incentives to companies was not the only way to lure potential investment to the city.
“People don’t realize the goldmine we have here. When they go to other cities like Dallas, they are amazed at what Pharr (and the region) has to offer,” Perez said.
