Over 32,000 Cameron County, Hidalgo County voters cast their ballot on first day of early voting

RIO GRANDE VALLEY, Texas (ValleyCentral) — Early voting kicked off across the Valley on Monday and Cameron and Hidalgo County Election Officials gave ValleyCentral a look at what day one looked like across all polling locations.

The total number of ballots cast on the first day of early voting in Cameron County is 11,072.

Of the 24 polling locations, 1,551 votes were cast at the Brownsville Public Library. Both the Harlingen County Annex Building and the San Benito Community Building had over 800 voters.

The total number of ballots cast on the first day of early voting in Hidalgo County is 21,274.

Of the 33 polling locations, 1,614 were cast at the Lark Community Center. Both the Elections Annex Building and Business Visitors & Event Center had over 1,300 voters.

Early voting will run through Nov. 1. Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 5.
