ROMA, Texas (ValleyCentral) — One person was arrested Friday morning after a threat was made against Roma High School.
District police were made aware of a threat that was posted on social media, according to a statement by the Roma ISD Police Department.
Police located the source of the threat and the unidentified person was detained and later arrested.
"After gathering evidence and making sure the suspect did not have the ability to commit the threat, an arrest was made," Roma ISD police say.
The person was properly charged and transported to a detention center.
Police have not confirmed if the person who made the threat is a student at Roma High School.
School officials addressed the threat on a social media post following the arrest.
"Roma ISD would like to thank our Roma ISD Police Department for their vigilance and swift action," the post stated. "We remind the community to remain vigilant as well, and if you see something or hear something, say something to help keep our students and community safe."
