Northern Cameron County Democrats host DNC watch party

CAMERON COUNTY, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The Northern Cameron County Democrats hosted a watch party for the Democratic National Convention.

The watch party was hosted on Thursday, night four of the DNC, where Kamala Harris and presenters moved many with their speeches at the convention.

Attendees at the watch party told ValleyCentral they were moved by the stories of former teachers who lost their students to gun violence in America.

"These kids, these angels were killed in that manner, you know it's just [devastating] and our country still can't do anything about it, it angers me and something has to be done," said Linda Rowland, a retired teacher and Kamala Harris supporter.

Marisela Alvarado, a Kamala Harris supporter and veteran, commented on the gun violence in this country stating, "Assault weapons? those are what are used in the military to kill the enemy."
