MISSION, Texas (ValleyCentral) — A man convicted of drug trafficking was sent to prison again for smuggling drugs while on supervised release.

Salvador Noyola, 56, will have to serve an additional 15 years in prison for violating his supervised release period.

He will also have to serve an additional five years on supervised release for the new drug trafficking charge.

Noyola was arrested in December 2023 after authorities seized over two pounds of powdered cocaine from him.

Chief U.S. District Judge Randy Crane handed down Noyola's prison sentence.

"You’ve got to get out of this business. I hope that you will find another way to make money,” Judge Crane said.

Noyola will remain in custody pending transfer to a U.S. Bureau of Prisons facility.
