Previous ValleyCentral reports stated that at 2:43 a.m. on February 25, Polanco called dispatch from the 100 block of Nicholson Avenue. During the call, Polanco stated that he may have killed someone, police said.

During the call, police were able to get the information that the victim was lying on the floor with multiple stab wounds at a second location.

The victim, identified as Moreno, was pronounced dead at the 800 block of Nueces Street in Mission.

According to police, Polanco and the victim were both intoxicated and causing a disturbance at the residence. Police added that a kitchen knife used in the killing was found at the scene.

Polanco has a separate ongoing case for assault, impeding breath.

Polanco remains jailed and is scheduled to be arraigned at 9 a.m. on July 31.
