MCALLEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The City of McAllen welcomed its newest city manager Monday afternoon.
The city hosted a meet and greet reception to welcome the newly named city manager Isaac J. Tawil.
"I'm so excited to be the next city manager for the City of McAllen," said Tawil. "To assume this responsibility for the citizens we serve is the most exciting thing that I can think of."
Tawil was selected as McAllen City Manager on Aug. 20, after previous City Manager Roel "Roy" Rodriguez, P.E., announced his retirement earlier this year.
He has been with the city for over 13 years, serving as an assistant city attorney for 10 years and city attorney for 3.5 years.
