McAllen warns public of scam involving police department

MCALLEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The city of McAllen is advising residents of a scam involving the McAllen Police Department.

According to the city, the department uses the Official City of McAllen Government Facebook page.

They say any page claiming to be the McAllen Police Department is a fake. The public is urged not to provide any personal or financial information over these pages claiming to be McAllen police.
