McAllen police search for man accused of stealing Chevy truck

MCALLEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) — McAllen police are searching for a man who is wanted for allegedly stealing a truck last month.

Robert William Painter, 22, is accused of stealing a red Chevrolet Silverado from the 200 block of E. Quamasia Ave. in McAllen.

The auto theft took place at approximately 6:53 p.m. on June 27, according to McAllen police.

Police describe Painter as five feet, eight inches tall, with brown hair, brown eyes and weighs approximately 160 pounds.

According to Hidalgo County Jail Records, Painter was previously booked in jail on May 17 with two charges of property theft and unlawful use of a criminal instrument.

Records show he was released on May 21.
