McAllen police increase patrol units during Spring Break

MCALLEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The McAllen Police Department, the Texas Department of Transportation and other law enforcement agencies are partnering up for the Impaired Driving Mobilization Spring Break Campaign.

The campaign will run from Friday, March 7, through Sunday, March 23. Its goal is to promote safe driving through education and enforcement efforts.

The McAllen Police Department will increase its patrol units during the Spring Break period to look for impaired drivers on the roadways as well as other traffic law violations.

Authorities remind those who will be participating in any Spring Break activities to plan for a sober ride.

Ways to plan for a sober ride are to have a designated sober driver, use a ride share service, call a taxi or just stay where you are.
