ALAMO, Texas (ValleyCentral) — A man involved in a major multi-vehicle collision is also being charged with drug possession, authorities say.
Saul Xavier Gonzalez, 29, is charged with collision involving personal injury or death, possession of a controlled substance PG3 and two charges of possession of a controlled substance PG1, according to a news release from the Alamo Police Department.
At approximately 7 p.m. on Jan. 16, authorities responded to a major multi-vehicle collision at the intersection of Crockett Avenue and Serg Loop.
Authorities say the accident resulted in three victims being transferred to local hospitals for medical treatment.
One victim suffered life-threatening injuries and remains in critical condition. Police say the victims are being closely monitored by medical personnel.
A preliminary investigation revealed that a man, identified as Gonzalez, driving a white Ford F-150 ran away from the scene on foot after driving at a high rate of speed.
At 7 p.m. on Jan. 17, an arrest warrant was issued at a home where Gonzalez was found.
Alamo police state they will continue to monitor the condition of all the hospitalized victims.
