McALLEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) —An Alton man pleaded guilty to distributing liquid meth, the U.S. Attorney's Office stated.
During an investigation, authorities revealed that 26-year-old Jesus David Medrano Grimald intended to sell approximately 20 pounds of an illegal controlled substance.
According to a news release from the U.S. Attorney's Office, Medrano made the sale of illegal controlled substances in "hopes of selling more."
Investigators witnessed the transaction and watched Medrano place the jug containing a liquid in the other person's vehicle.
Authorities later discovered the liquid inside the jug was liquid methamphetamine. The release stated the liquid meth weighed approximately 20 pounds.
Chief U.S. District Judge Randy Crane scheduled Medrano's sentencing for Feb. 3, 2025. Medrano faces up to life in federal prison and a $10 million maximum fine.
