Lyford CISD students interacted with Region One work-based learning programs

PHARR, Texas (ValleyCentral) — Region One Education Service Center and Perkins Innovation and Modernization Program are offering work-based learning experiences to students in rural school systems.

The programs that will be offered are the following:

• Emergency Medical Technician
• Pharmacy Technician
• Physical Therapy Assistant
• Certified Nursing Assitant

Students in Lyford CISD had the chance to participate in the interactive career exploration session at Rio Grande Valley College.

The goal of these programs is to improve academic scores and career readiness efforts in students. Region One has a goal to enhance student's interests in careers and technical education programs through work-based learning.
