LUPE to host presentation on recent immigration order

SAN JUAN, Texas (ValleyCentral) — La Union del Pueblo Entero is hosting its monthly Junta General and the topic of the month is President Biden's recent immigration relief action.

The presentation begins at 6 p.m. on Friday at LUPE San Juan and will discuss what the immigration relief action entails, who it benefits and how people can prepare for when applications open.

"What we've learned is that a lot of people didn't quite understand what was announced three weeks ago by President Biden," said Director of Organizing, Joaquin Garcia. "That is why we decided to start giving these orientations so we can explain to people who are gonna be the beneficiaries of this executive order.

An upcoming immigration committee will also be discussed at the presentation.

"It's an immigration committee composed of LUPE members that have been getting together for a couple of months now and we're trying to organize a campaign around SB4."
