Lanes closures, traffic delays for MXLAN 5K run

MCALLEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) — Lane closures and traffic delays will be in place Friday to prepare for the 2024 MXLAN Neon Nights 5K.

MXLAN will kickoff Friday evening showcasing music, culture and festivities including the Neon Nights run.

Traffic and lane closures will begin before the run starts at 8 p.m. through 10 p.m., Friday May 3.

Lane closures and delays will be along Business 83 from Ware Road to 29th Street and continuing along Ithaca Avenue.

The 5K race will begin at 8:30 p.m., at the McAllen Convention Center, located on 700 Convention Center Boulevard.

McAllen city officials encourage drivers to find an alternative route to avoid heavy traffic in the area.
