Jury selected in trial for man accused of killing, starving young boy

BROWNSVILLE, Texas (ValleyCentral) — A jury was selected Monday in the trial for a man accused of starving and abusing a young boy before he died.

Ruben Gonzalez is one of three people facing charges of murder and injury to a child in connection to the death of Jesse Harrison Jr. On Monday, a jury was selected in the case, which will continue on Tuesday morning.

Sabrina Lynn Loredo and Antonia Gonzalez are facing the same charges in connection to Harrison's death, but their trial dates were scheduled for October.

The indictments against the trio accuse them of causing Harrison's death by failing to provide medical care and restricting his food, water and nutritional intake. The indictments also reference several injuries to Harrison, including broken fingers, a broken arm and bruised genitalia.
