Jersey Mike's celebrates 'Month of Giving' in RGV

MCALLEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) — Jersey Mike's celebrates its annual 'Month of Giving' campaign with "Eat a Sub: Help Wipe Out Kids' Cancer" event.

Vannie E. Cook Jr. Children's Cancer & Hematology is joining forces with six Jersey Mike's locations in the Rio Grande Valley.

The campaign will culminate with Jersey Mike's "Day of Giving" on Wednesday, March 27. On that day, Jersey Mike's will donate 100% of the sales made that day to Wipe Out Kids' Cancer.

Jersey Mike's hopes to exceed last year's record-breaking local fundraising total of $30,000 and help Vannie Cooks Children's Center, striving to fulfill its missions and make a difference.

"I would like to extend a personal invitation to you and your family to visit Jersey Mike's Subs throughout March, and especially on Day of Giving when 100% of sales- every penny- goes to help a great local cause," said Peter Cancro, Jersey Mike's founder and CEO.

Since the Month of Giving began in 2011, Jersey Mikes has raised more than $88 million for local charities.
