STARR COUNTY, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The Texas General Land Office took to X to announce that incoming Border Czar Tom Homan under the Trump Administration has accepted the Starr County land offered for border security operations.

The Texas General Land Officer took to X to make the announcement with a clip from the Dr. Phil show where Texas Land Commissioner Dr. Dawn Buckingham and Homan were featured.

Homan announced that he accepted Buckingham's lease over 1,400 acres of Starr County land.

"We just want to be good partners, Texas has been standing in the gap while the Biden Administration has advocated its duty to protect our border and so our offer was simply this," Buckingham said. "If we have something that's of use to you, if there is a way to help get these violent criminals off of our soil who are raping and murdering our sons and daughters then we want to be a part of that."

Homan says he is currently working on a plan to utilize the land.
