Houston dog missing for a year found 350 miles from home in Edinburg

EDINBURG, Texas (ValleyCentral) — A dog from Humble, Texas that was missing for a year is returning home.

Humble is a suburb of Houston, 356 miles away from the Rio Grande Valley.

A news release from the city of Edinburg said "Boe" went missing from his Houston home and was recently found wandering the streets of Edinburg.

The city said their animal care officers discovered Boe's microchip, and plans are being made to reunite Boe with his family this weekend.

This case, the city said, shows the importance of microchipping pets.
