Hidalgo County launches podcast to highlight county government

EDINBURG, Texas (ValleyCentral) — Hidalgo County Public Affairs Division announced the start of a limited series podcast to inform residents in the Rio Grande Valley about the process of county government while highlighting the RGV.

The podcast titled “RGV on the Rise” will debut on Wednesday, Sept. 18, and will feature a new episode biweekly. The topics that will be addressed are the Hidalgo County Prosperity Task Force, the water issue, and how the county will handle the November elections.

“I have long believed that communicating with the public is essential to gaining the people’s trust in government,” said Hidalgo County Judge Richard F. Cortez, who will be featured in the premiere episode. “This podcast is yet another tool that we hope to use to be as transparent with the public as we can.”

RGV on the Rise will be available on most major podcasting sites, including Spotify, iHeartRadio, and Amazon podcasts, as well as on the county website.
