Hidalgo County Criminal District Attorney's Office host Domestic Awareness event

EDINBURG, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The Hidalgo County Criminal District Attorney's Office and the Rio Grande Valley District Attorneys Coalition hosted an annual regional press conference to raise awareness about domestic violence.

The event was hosted at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley Edinburg campus.

This year, Hidalgo County partnered with the UTRGV Criminal Justice Department and the Criminal Justice Honor Society to reach youths and provide prevention education and resources for family violence victims.

The event was free to the public. Participants were asked to wear purple in honor of Domestic Abuse Awareness.
